2 + 2 = 5
and speaking of teaching, sometimes I think I wouldn't do badly with little kids.
I often help pau --the little girl at the teashop I work at-- with her second grade homework. she's made me look up a couple of things in the dictionary, too. today I was trying to explain her the difference between even and odd numbers.
after ten we ran out of fingers, so I started handing her matches to keep count. then we were making squares and rectangles and stars and pyramids with matches, and she was delighted.
then again, I think then, I probably only find it so cute because she's going to grow up to be a nerd just like me. if I taught your usual little kid, I'd probably be smashing them against a blackboard.
/midnight musings.
